Mary Grace and Griffin’s wedding at SpringHouse in Alexander City was one of those unforgettable celebrations.
A Storm, A Story, and a Beautiful Beginning
Just minutes before their ceremony was set to begin, an unexpected popup shower swept through the venue. The decision was quickly made to move over 250 guests inside, and moments later winds over 50 mph and sheets of rain pounding down took over the scene. What could have been a wedding day disaster turned into a testament to resilience, teamwork, and grace.
Vendors and staff alike pitched in — mopping floors, drying chairs, resetting décor, and even handing out dry T-shirts — so that Mary Grace and Griffin’s day could carry on. Thirty minutes later, the skies cleared, the storm passed, and beauty reigned, again.
From our perspective as the ceremony string musicians, the moment felt almost cinematic. As we joked afterward: “We felt like the string quartet in Titanic who played up until the last minute and went down with the ship!”
When the rain came in from all angles under the tent, we found ourselves drenched — but thanks to the incredible team at SpringHouse, we were given fresh shirts, and Erica Dortch captured us in action during the ceremony, wet hair and all. It’s the untold part of the ceremony, and a memory that makes us smile even now.
A God-Centered Celebration
Mary Grace and Griffin described the goal of their wedding as building a foundation for a God-centered marriage. Their wedding day was filled with a reverent kind of joy that reflected that intention. Their love — steady, selfless, and sacred — was felt in every moment.
The ceremony music played a special role in setting the tone for their vows. Each song was chosen with great meaning, blending tradition with the couple’s personal faith:

With the help of Southern Posies and Mary Grace’s own eye as an interior designer, SpringHouse transformed into a pastel garden. Gentle florals and soft details created a space that felt both serene and joyful, perfectly reflecting the couple’s hearts.
